The African Violet Society of America is a society of plant enthusiasts who promote the growth of African violets as house plants. The African Violet Society of America hosts an annual convention and publish a bi-monthly full-color 64-page magazine, the African Violet Magazine.

• Annapolis Valley African Violet Society
The Annapolis Valley African Violet Society is a small group of people in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia who meet monthly to discuss the growing and care of Saintpaulias (African Violets) and other related plants in the gesneriad family. The group is highly active and between them, the members grow approximately 400 different varieties of African Violets. Many of the members attend African Violet Conventions and shows throughout Canada and the U.S.A. The AVAVS is affiliated with the African Violet Society of Canada (AVSC) and the African Violet Society of America (AVSA).

• Lone Star African Violet Council
Since 1975, the Lone Star African Violet Council (LSAVC) has been a resource for African violet enthusiasts across the state of Texas. Members of LSAVC, including local African Violet Societies and individuals, are interested in sharing information about the culture of African Violets and other gesneriads. LSAVC members work to stimulate interest in African violets by providing educational activities and judged African violet shows in communities statewide. Everyone is welcome to become a member of the LSAVC.

• Wanganui African Violet and Gesneriad Club
We are the only African Violet and Gesneriad Club in New Zealand; but we are part of a much wider network. The African Violet and Gesneriad Council of Australia and New Zealand and our constant contact with them keeps us up with the play in the Gesneriad field throughout the world.

• Eastleigh and Bishopstoke Allotments Co-operative Association
The Eastleigh and Bishopstoke Allotments Association has a membership of around 400 people including plot holders in and around the Eastleigh area together with non-plot holding trading members. It has a committee structure with five officer posts including Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Trading Secretary and around 17 committee members comprised of Site Representatives from allotment sites around the Eastleigh, Chandler's Ford and Bishopstoke area. All committee members and officers are volunteers. We are affiliated to the National Society of Allotment and Leisure.

• South Croydon Allotment Society
The Society is over 130 years old and manages about 146 plots at the South Croydon site. The standard sized plot is 10 rods (approximately 250 sq. metres) but half sized plots and plots of other areas are also available.

• Alaska Rock Garden Society
The Alaska Chapter of the North American Rock Garden Society is a growing group of Northern gardeners interested in hardy plants for cold climates. Our goal is to raise awareness of rock and alpine gardening in Alaska and provide information for other enthusiasts interested in the study and cultivation of plants from Alaska's vast mountains and alpine areas. ARGS holds monthly meetings, sponsors plant sales and field-trips, guest lectures and a chapter seed exchange. Our Newsletter is published about 6 times a year. Membership is fifteen dollars a calendar year and open to any interested individual.

• The Heather Society
Founded in 1963, to promote and encourage interest in heathers, it now has worldwide membership covering Europe, Africa, the Americas, Australiasia and the Far East. The Society provides an informative Yearbook and three newsy Bulletins annually which contains a diary of events to keep members in touch with Society activities and new developments. It organises regional groups, visits to heather gardens, annual week-end conferences, the occasional field-trip and free advice to members on heather garden design or with any problems they may have. It has a slide library, arranges heather competitions, assists National Collections of heathers and is the International Cultivar Registration Authority for Andromeda, Calluna, Daboecia and Erica.
