Em 29 de Setembro de 1989 um grupo de agricultores sensibilizados para o risco de extincao que ameacava a raca mirandesa cria a Associacao de Criadores de Bovinos de Raca Mirandesa (ACBRM). Actualmente, a Associacao presta servico a cerca de 1500 criadores dos quais 1016 sao socios.
