• Mesothelioma Conference
Brayton Purcell Sponsors Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation Conference (October 6, 2004). The conference includes meetings for medical professionals as well as workshops geared specifically to mesothelioma patients and family members. In the United States, about 2,500 to 4,000 patients are diagnosed with mesothelioma each year. The figures are about 1,500 per year in the United Kingdom, and are expected to increase to 3,000 per year by 2020.
• Environmental Health Risk 2005
The Third International Conference on Environmental Health Risk took place recently in Bologna, organised by the Wessex Institute of Technology. This follows two other successful meetings in Cardiff, UK in 2001; and the University of Catania, Italy in 2003. The aim of the conference is to establish measures that can eliminate or considerably reduce hazardous factors from the human environment to minimise the associated health risks. The conference provides a forum for interaction between many different experts working in this important field.
• 2005 Asbestos Conference
A meeting entitled "Directions and Needs in Asbestos Research Conference - New Insights" is scheduled to be held July 28 and 29, 2005 at the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana, by the Center for Environmental Health Sciences (CEHS). The conference is a follow-up to one hosted by the CEHS in June, 2002, and continues to take advantage of opportunities to work with a unique population in Libby, MT, where significant asbestos exposures have occurred due to the mining of asbestos-contaminated vermiculite.

• Conference on Contaminated Soils, Sediments and Water
The Annual Conference on Soils, Sediments and Water, this year, October 16-19, 2006, at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst has become the preeminent national conference in this important environmental area. The conference attracts 700-800 attendees annually which includes a wide variety of representation from state and federal agencies; military; a number of industries including railroad, petroleum, transportation, utilities; the environmental engineering and consulting community; and academia.
