Dr. Hedy Lee Kindler is the Director of the Mesothelioma Program at the University of Chicago. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of Hematology/Oncology and a Member of the Cancer Research Center. Dr. Kindler is an internationally recognized expert in new drug development for mesothelioma. She chairs the Mesothelioma Program of the Cancer and Leukemia Group B, a national cooperative cancer research group.

A meeting entitled "Directions and Needs in Asbestos Research Conference - New Insights" is scheduled to be held July 28 and 29, 2005 at the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana, by the Center for Environmental Health Sciences (CEHS).
