  Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution: Sea Grant Program
The Woods Hole Sea Grant program, based at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), supports research, education, and extension projects that encourage environmental stewardship, long-term economic development, and responsible use of the nation's coastal and ocean resources. It is part of the National Sea Grant College Program of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, a network of 30 individual programs located in each of the coastal and Great Lakes states.

  Kids in the Creek
The Kids in the Creek program provides students with a simple method of assessing the long-term health of a stream by viewing and identifying the aquatic insects and observing the world they inhabit. It explains the importance of a healthy watershed and the effect of a vibrant forest canopy and riparian area on the stream and its water quality. It also connects the conditions of the stream being explored to the immediate food chain as well as the entire ecosystem.
