  BacSim: Individual-Based Model of Microorganisms
Homepage of Jan Kreft. Mainly features research on: Individual-based modelling of bacteria growing in biofilms or colonies. Biofilms with extracellular polymeric substances. Food spoilage. Cooperation and Competition in Biofilms or how Biofilms promote Altruism.

International Society for Microbial Ecology (ISME)
The mission of the International Society for Microbial Ecology (ISME) is to promote the exchange of scientific information on microbial ecology. We do this by organizing meetings, sponsoring publications, promoting education and research, and promoting interaction between scientists.

The Center for Microbial Ecology (CME)
The organization, research and educational activities, and personnel of the MSU Center for Microbial Ecology, an National Science Foundation science and technolology center.

Digital Learning Center for Microbial Ecology
The Digital Learning Center for Microbial Ecology is an educational resource about ecology and microbiology. The DLC-ME includes the Microbe Zoo, Microbes in the News, Meet the Scientists, and more.

  LTER Microbial Observatories
Microbes are essential for the functioning of ecological systems. Vital microbial processes include decomposition and mineralization, aspects of the nitrogen cycle (nitrogen fixation, nitrification, denitrification), mycorrhizal provision of nutrients to trees, microbial N immobilization, production of biomass fueling microbial food webs, and breakdown of toxic materials.

Gutbugs - All Aspects of Intestinal Bacteriology
All aspects of intestinal microbiology, in laymans terms as far as possible. Gutbugs will be carrying information on intestinal bacteriology, bacterial influences on gut health, probiotics, antibiotics, pathogenicity and basically anything related to bacteria which inhabit the gut.

  Microbial Ecology Working Group
Microbial Ecology Working Group, Department of Microbiology, University of Innsbruck, Technikerstrasse 25, A-6020 Innsbruck.

  IMPACT Project Home Page
This project is funded by the European Community Biotechnology Programme (EC DGXII) in the area of ecological implicators of biotechnology. The overall objective of the IMPACT II project is to study the molecular-ecological interactions of GMOs of commercial interest with indigenous species of the rhizosphere of key European food crops. As the use of plants and microbial inoculants with modified traits is governed by international regulations, a thorough knowledge of their behaviour and interactions with different components of the soil ecosystem is required.

  Microbial Ecosystem Dynamics (MEDEA)
Microbial Ecosystem Dynamics - a scientific research project under the EU MAST-III programme to study the dynamics of marine microbial food webs.
