The Journal of Industrial Ecology at Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies (published by MIT Press). The Journal of Industrial Ecology is an international, multi-disciplinary quarterly designed to foster both understanding and practice in the emerging field of industrial ecology. Industrial ecology is a rapidly-growing field that systematically examines local, regional and global materials and energy uses and flows in products, processes, industrial sectors and economies.
• Russian-Norwegian Cleaner Production Center
The Cleaner Production Programme is intended to enhance activity of the engineering staff of Russian enterprises in the direction of saving resources and, as a result, of reducing waste and decreasing environmental pollution. This Programme comes being introduced to still greater extent in this country as a project capable of fulfilling the optimization of production processes without heavy expenditure.
• Energy and Materials Policy Design
Energy policy and environmental policy analysis (GHG, CO2, waste, sustainability). Fossil energy and fossils are discussed.
• Industrial Symbiosis
Symbiosis means co-existence between diverse organisms in which each may benefit from the other. In this context, the term is applied about the industrial co-operation taking place in Kalundborg between a number of companies and Kalundborg Municipality, all of which exploit each otheris residual or by-products mutually. The Symbiosis co-operation has developed spontaneously over a number of decades and today comprises some 20 projects. The exchange of residual products between the companies is laid out in the diagram.
