  Amazonia Expeditions: Zip-line Canopy Exploration
Amazonia Expeditions has the longest zipline canopy system in all of the Amazon. Guests are hoisted one hundred feet above the ground into a large, emergent tree. Then, strapped into a rapeller's harness, attached by carabiner to a tandem zip line of stainless steel aircraft cables, you are able to to travel through the air from one tree giant to another. The speed of one's flight can be controlled by the user to soar rapidly, slow down, or stop to take pictures. In all, several old-growth emergent trees are used, with wooden platforms to allow one to stop and rest, studying the tree top life.

  Canopy Construction Associates
CCA has been building canopy access systems since 1990 with our first project in the Amazonian rain forest of northern Peru. Canopy Construction Associates is staffed by scientists and construction experts who have both the ability and experience to work high above the ground in remote (and not so remote) locations. CCA provides canopy access and consultation with regard to the appropriate site location, selection of access options, and costs.

Formal Ontologies, Specifications and Logics in Canopy Research
A number of description techniques are outlined and their usefulness in describing the domain of canopy research and associated data models is indicated. The approaches considered are: formal ontologies, object-oriented formal specifications, domain-specific logics and domain languages. We consider a simple abstraction of tree architecture to illustrate some of the concepts, especially those of formal specifications.

Canopy access towers at Jarvselja deciduous forest in Southeastern Estonia (58° 22' N, 27° 20' E). Dominant species are Populus tremula and Tilia cordata. Plant ecophysiology and landscape ecology are two principal research fields at the department.

  Forest Ecosystem Dynamics
The Forest Ecosystem Dynamics (FED) Project is concerned with modeling and monitoring ecosystem processes and patterns in response to natural and anthropogenic effects.

The Interior Columbia River Ecosystem Management Project
The Interior Columbia Basin Ecosystem Management Project (Project) home page. In July 1993, President Clinton directed the Forest Service to "develop a scientifically sound and ecosystem-based strategy for management of eastside forests." Responding to this direction, the project was initiated by the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service and the United States Department of Interior Bureau of Land Management.
