• Anchialine Caves and Cave Fauna
Marine cave biology, anchialine caves and cave animals, cave diving, marine biospeleology, exploration and study of Yucatan and Bahamas caves.
• Biospeleology in Canada and on the WWW
These pages on the Canadian Caving website are devoted to biospeleology: the scientific investigation of subterranean biology and the subterranean environment, which includes caves, groundwater and other underground habitats in Canada and throughout the world. These pages originated with Max Mosely (site curator 1996-1998) but are presently maintained by Pat Shaw.
• Movile Cave
Movile Cave Project is the official website or the Movile cave, a unique and fragile underground environment, one the the very few known as driven by chemosynthesis.
• Biological Investigations of Diana Northup
Diana E. Northup - Geomicrobiology and microbiology of Lechuguilla, Spider, Cueva de Villa Luz (Cueva de las Sardinas), and other caves. Diana is also the Biology and Chemistry librarian at Centennial Science and Engineering Library at the University of New Mexico.
• Groudwater Biology Home Page
Updated information about ground waters dwelling organisms, with particular regards to crustaceans. Links to other sites with information on groundwater biology. Literature. Journals. Museums.
• Subterranean Amphipod Database
The goal of this site is to add data stepwise to all the listed subterranean families. The individual databases differ per family, depending on the information available. They range from simple species lists to detailed specimen databases, which, for example, include biogeographic data and bibliographies. This project is supported by a Partnership for Enhancing Expertise in Taxonomy (PEET) grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF).
• Biospeleology
Illinois Natural History Survey, Biospeleology web site, Author Steve Taylor. The cave environment varies as one moves farther away from the land above. This environmental variation has been used to classify parts of the cave into ecological zones.
• Island Karst Research
IKR was formed by Martin Davis in 1993 as a vehicle for conducting cave and karst inventories, cave exploration, karst research and for developing equipment relating to cave exploration. It has since branched into bat research and development of electronic devices applicable to this work. Martin has been an active caver for more than 35 years and has been involved in exploration across Canada, the Eastern United States and Central America.
• The Cave Life Page
This page is dedicated to the many animals that inhabit caves - they are a few photographs of some of them. Anyone wishing to add more photos to the page is very welcome. If you would like to add more information regarding a particular cave animal - please send me the information and I will add it.
