  International Canopy Network
The International Canopy Network (ICAN) is devoted to facilitating the continuing interaction of people concerned with forest canopies and forest ecosystems around the world. ICAN is a non-profit organization supported by a global community of scientists, conservation advocates, canopy educators, and environmental professionals. The organization is funded by subscriber dues, donations, and grants.

  Surumoni Crane Project
This site provides information on the rainforest canopy research crane (stae Amazonas, Venezuela) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. It provides an overview of the current research projects and gives infomation on the study site.

TREE Foundation: The Myakka Canopy Walkway Project
TREE Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to tree research, exploration and education. Rain forests of the world are disappearing at an alarming rate, conservation efforts are imperative.

  Alberta Centre for Boreal Research
The Alberta Centre for Boreal Research provides reliable up-to-date information to the public about the ecology and management of boreal forests in western Canada.

Centre of Excellence for Forest Ecology and Management
Centre of Excellence for Forest Ecology and Management aims at enhancing the scientific research on functional and structural dynamics of the boreal forest ecosystem with management implications. The Centre was established at the beginning of 2000. It is located in the University of Joensuu, Finland, and it is based on the collaborative studies of the research groups working in the Faculty of Forestry and Department of Biology.

Forest Ecology Group: Mountain Forest Ecology
The mission of the Forest Ecology Group is to further our understanding of the structure and function of forest ecosystems, with a particular focus on mountain areas such as the European Alps. A process-based understanding of the dynamics of these systems provides the basis for improving their management in an era of multiple and sometimes conflicting forest uses, including protection of people and infrastructure, wood production, carbon storage, water resources, biodiversity, and recreation.

Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute - Forest Ecology
To increase understanding of the past, present and future of tropical biodiversity and its relevance to human welfare.

  The Sonoran Desert
Join our One World Journeys team and photographer Jack Dykinga, writer Chuck Bowden and desert expert Bill Broyles on a four-wheel drive journey along El Camino Del Diablo through the August searing heat of the Sonoran Desert. Along the way you'll learn of efforts to preserve the heart of this mysterious and silent land through the creation of the Sonoran Desert National Park.

  Birding from Peru's Canopy Walkway
A birding ecotour to Peru's Amazon region, based around a canopy walkway. The Canopy Walkway is located within the CONAPAC Biological Reserve, which is the larges of several "Explorama reserves." The Canopy Walkway and the CONAPAC Biological Reserve have their beginnings back in 1964 when the company operating Explorama Lodges felt obliged to purchase and maintain primary virgin rainforest reserves near each of its several lodges.

  Evergreen Canopy Walkway Project
The Evergreen State College is exploring the feasibility of building a forest canopy walkway on its campus. Envisioned as a universally-accessible system of canopy-level walkways linking existing campus structures with an arboreal seminar pod, The Evergreen Canopy Walkway will provide unique opportunities to view and understand the forest from root system to tree top.
