• Eco-complexity and Dynamics of the Cultural Landscape
The 34th Annual Conference of the Ecological Society (Gesellschaft fur Oekologie, GfOE) will take place from 13 - 17 September 2004 in Giessen, Germany. The conference will be organised by Justus Liebig University, Giessen. The conference venue will be the Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Biosystems, Land Use and Nutrition, located on the natural sciences campus.
• Restoring Nutrients to Salmonid Ecosystems
The proceedings of the 2001 conference ÂRestoring Nutrients to Salmonid Ecosystems and the first book of its kind in the scientific and technical market, this volume presents recent information on the role and importance of marine-derived nutrients in salmonid ecosystems. The authors examine how this research can be used effectively to assist in rebuilding salmonid stocks in the Pacific Northwest.
• International Conference on Forest Dynamics and Ungulate Herbivory
On October 2-6, 2001, nearly 160 scientists and managers from 29 countries convened in Davos, Switzerland, to present and discuss their research on ungulate herbivory and effects of ungulates on forests. The goals were to (1) bring together researchers and forest/wildlife managers who deal with the interactions between forest dynamics and ungulate herbivory, and (2) summarize the current state of the art in forest and game management activities that are concerned with ungulate effects on forests.
