• Wetland Ecosystem Team, University of Washington
The Wetland Ecosystem Team (WET) is an established group of research faculty, staff and students at the School of Aquatic & Fishery Sciences, University of Washington, who study natural and applied ecosystem-, community- and habitat-level processes in estuarine and coastal wetlands. WET research emphasizes fisheries (especially juvenile Pacific salmon) habitat, predator-prey relationships, and the sources, organization and flow of organic matter through food webs.
• One Tree Island Research Station
One Tree Island is a coral cay of about 4 hectares, situated at the seaward (southeast) end of its reef which is 5.5 long and up to 3.5 km in size. The reef is an excellent example the rich development characteristic of the southern part of the southern part of the Great Barrier Reef. It lies in the Centre of the Capricorn Group of the Great Barrier Reef, about 20 km east of Heron Island and about 100km off the Queensland coast. The nearest mainland port is Gladstone.
• Scripps Institution of Oceanography - Marine Biology Research Division (MBRD)
Marine research in cell and developmental biology, ecology and evolutionary biology, microbiology and physiology supported by aquarium facility and biological collections
• UK National Reference Laboratory
The web site of the UK National Reference Laboratory (NRL) for monitoring bacteriological and virological contamination of bivalve molluscs. The purpose of this website is to provide information and guidance on public health related monitoring of bivalve shellfish (such as oysters, mussels, cockles and clams).
• AUV Payload Development and Deep-Sea Gradients
Introduction to the deep-sea research activities at the Alfred Wegener Institute for polar and marine research.
• Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Conservation (CEEC)
The Centre for Ecology, Evolution and Conservation at UEA, Norwich, is one of the largest groups of ecologists and evolutionary biologists in Europe, with over 20 members of faculty and a community of around 70 research staff and PhD students. We offer: BSc degrees in Ecology; A one year Masters programme in Applied Ecology and Conservation; A one year Diploma in Conservation and Project Administration; A one year Diploma in ecology; Doctoral programmes in ecology, evolutionary biology and conservation.
• Florida Marine Research Institute
The Fish and Wildlife Research Institute's work includes assessment and restoration of ecosystems and studies of freshwater and marine fisheries, aquatic and terrestrial wildlife, imperiled species, and red tides. The institute develops the information science required to analyze and disseminate research products and engages in outreach activities to compliment all programs.
• Kiel University - Ocean Gateways
This "Research Unit" aims to quantify the role of some of the most important low- and high-latitude ocean gateways in changing the global thermohaline circulation (THC), climate, and the evolution of marine organisms. The gateway apertures, in turn, are controlled by (slow acting) local geodynamics and (fast acting) glacio-eustatic sea-level change.
• Belle W. Baruch Institute for Marine Biology & Coastal Research
The Belle W. Baruch Institute for Marine & Coastal Sciences was established in 1969 through the joint efforts of the Belle W. Baruch Foundation and the University of South Carolina. The Baruch Institute is dedicated to fostering discovery, advancing existing knowledge, and providing a sound understanding of marine and coastal environments. Excellence in both basic and applied research of these complex and diverse ecosystems is the governing principle.
• Coastal Sudies Laboratory
The University of Texas - Pan American Coastal Studies Lab, located on South Padre Island, Texas near the mouth of the Rio Grande, serves the missions of university education, coastal research, and public service/public education.
