• Florida Marine Research Institute
The Fish and Wildlife Research Institute's work includes assessment and restoration of ecosystems and studies of freshwater and marine fisheries, aquatic and terrestrial wildlife, imperiled species, and red tides. The institute develops the information science required to analyze and disseminate research products and engages in outreach activities to compliment all programs.
• One Tree Island Research Station
One Tree Island is a coral cay of about 4 hectares, situated at the seaward (southeast) end of its reef which is 5.5 long and up to 3.5 km in size. The reef is an excellent example the rich development characteristic of the southern part of the southern part of the Great Barrier Reef. It lies in the Centre of the Capricorn Group of the Great Barrier Reef, about 20 km east of Heron Island and about 100km off the Queensland coast. The nearest mainland port is Gladstone.
• UK National Reference Laboratory
The web site of the UK National Reference Laboratory (NRL) for monitoring bacteriological and virological contamination of bivalve molluscs. The purpose of this website is to provide information and guidance on public health related monitoring of bivalve shellfish (such as oysters, mussels, cockles and clams).
• Center for Aquatic and Invasive Plants
The UF/IFAS Center for Aquatic and Invasive Plants is a multi-disciplinary research, teaching and extension unit devoted to the study and management of freshwater aquatic plants and invasive plants, aquatic and terrestrial. APIRS, the Aquatic, Wetland and Invasive Plant Information Retrieval System, is the Information Office of the Center. APIRS maintains the world's largest aquatic and wetland plant research database, and produces a variety of educational materials relating to aquatic ecosystems.
• SDSU Fish Ecology Lab
SDSU Fish Ecology Lab. We work on population ecology of temporate and tropical reef systems.
• Reef Relief
Reef Relief is a grassroots non-profit conservation organization dedicated to Preserve and Protect the Living Coral Reef Ecosystem. Reef Relief is a watchdog for the reefs, advocates water quality improvement policy, and encourages the public to help protect the coral reef through sustainable living and direct action activism. We provide k-12 teacher kits and coral science education materials to educators around the world. We provide news, info, and publications, a photomonitoring survey, and photos of ocean life, endangered animals, fish, and healthy and diseased corals.
• Shoals Rodrigues
Shoals Rodrigues carries out research, trains local people and educates children about the seas and coral reefs around the Mauritius Island of Rodrigues.
• Center for Coastal Studies, Texas A&M, Corpus Christi
The Center for Coastal Studies is an interdisciplinary marine research institute, CCS conducts basic and applied research, ecological monitoring, public education outreach, and graduate-level education and research programs. Research areas include: wetlands ecology, habitat restoration, creation, and enhancement; coastal habitat ecology and impacts; endangered species use of coastal habitats; benthic ecology; environmental physiology; coral reef ecology, environmental monitoring and impacts; oil spill impacts and habitat recovery; offshore artificial reef studies (including fisheries); and marine ecotoxicology.
• Institute for Tropical Marine Ecology - West Indies
The Institute for Tropical Marine Ecology (ITME) is a not-for-profit organization providing tertiary education and research training in marine biology and environmental studies at its field station in Dominica, Lesser Antilles. ITME further serves a resource center (environmental data, training, consultancies) for Dominica's general public, as well as for national and international organizations. The Institute's year-round field station is an ideal base of operations for visiting researchers and university groups, and unique meeting point in the Eastern Caribbean.
• Polish Academy of Sciences - Department of Marine Ecology
Department of Marine Ecology IO PAS consists of two parts: the chemical part - Marine Pollution Laboratory deals with the advanced methods of chemical analyses of the sea water and sediment. The ecological part (Arctic Ecology Group) of the deaprtment works on comparative field ecology. The climate - related patternsof biodiversity, communities and population structure are studied in Baltic, European Arctic Seas and recently in tropical areas.
