• Reviews in Fish Biology and Fisheries
Reviews in Fish Biology and Fisheries is a quarterly international journal which publishes review articles on varied aspects of fish and fisheries biology. The subject matter is focused on include evolutionary biology, zoogeography,..
• Department of Lake and Estuarine Ecology
The overall aim of the Department of Lake and Estuarine Ecology is to provide the scientific basis for the administration and management of lakes and estuarine ecosystems. This is achieved through strategic and applied research and through work on environmental data within these research areas. The department's responsibilities also include coordinating NERI's Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing activities.
• South Florida Aquatic Plant Management Society
The goal of the South Florida Aquatic Plant Management Society is to provide a forum for an exchange of ideas, news and information on plants that grow in and around water in South Florida. Anyone with an interest in aquatic plant management, growth of aquatic plants, or restoration of wetlands is invited to join. Although emphasis is placed on aquatic plants, any plant that impacts water in South Florida will be of interest to members of the Society.
• Aquatic Botany
An International Scientific Journal dealing with Applied and Fundamental Research on Submerged, Floating and Emergent Plants in Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems. Aquatic Botany is concerned with fundamental studies on structure, function, dynamics and classification of plant-dominated aquatic communities and ecosystems, as well as molecular, biochemical and physiological aspects of aquatic plants. It is also an outlet for papers dealing with applied research on plant-dominated aquatic systems, including the consequences of disturbance (e.g. transplantation, influence of herbicides and other chemicals, thermal pollution, biological control, grazing and disease), the use of aquatic plants, conservation of resources, and all aspects of aquatic plant production and decomposition.
• Journal of Aquatic Ecosystem Stress and Recovery
Journal of Aquatic Ecosystem Stress and Recovery (Formerly Journal of Aquatic Ecosystem Health). The Journal of Aquatic Ecosystem Stress and Recovery encourages submission of original studies which address the measurement, analysis, interpretation, and significance of natural and anthropogenic stressors on components of freshwater, estuarine, and marine systems. The journal is not entirely ecotoxicological or ecological in its primary thrust, but seeks to include elements from both disciplines in the creation of a body of knowledge which examines the effects of environmental stressors on all levels of biological organization including individual, population, community, and the ecosystem level.
• Wetlands Ecology and Management
Wetlands Ecology and Management is an international journal that publishes original articles in the field of wetlands ecology, the science of the structure and functioning of wetlands for their transformation, utilization, preservation and management on a sustainable basis. The journal covers both pure and applied science dealing with biological, physical and chemical aspects of freshwater, brackish and marine coastal wetlands.
• Freshwater Biological Association
The Freshwater Biological Association is a Registered Charity and an independent membership organisation, with members drawn from around the world. Founded in 1929, it aims to promote freshwater biology through scientific meetings, publications, research and authoritative advice. It publishes a variety of identification keys to freshwater organisms and other specialist volumes, and has one of the finest freshwater libraries in the world. Membership is open to anyone who is interested in freshwater science and wishes to support the Association.
• Reef Environment Education Foundation (REEF)
REEF was founded in 1990, out of growing concern about the health of the marine environment, and the desire to provide the Scuba Diving community a way to contribute to the understanding and protection of marine populations. REEF achieves this goal primarily through its volunteer fish monitoring program, the REEF Fish Survey Project. Participants in the Project not only learn about the environment they are diving in, but they also produce valuable information. Scientists, marine park staff, and the general public use the data that are collected by REEF volunteers.
• ReefKeeper International
ReefKeeper International is a public interest organization dedicated to the protection of coral reefs and their marine life.
• Belle W. Baruch Institute for Marine Biology & Coastal Research
The Belle W. Baruch Institute for Marine & Coastal Sciences was established in 1969 through the joint efforts of the Belle W. Baruch Foundation and the University of South Carolina. The Baruch Institute is dedicated to fostering discovery, advancing existing knowledge, and providing a sound understanding of marine and coastal environments. Excellence in both basic and applied research of these complex and diverse ecosystems is the governing principle.
