Alice is a mature database management system designed for biologists and others who store, or need access to, information about biological organisms. Our purpose is to improve the effectiveness with which information technology is applied within biology, ecology and conservation and ultimately to contribute to the long-term success of biological data management projects.

Digital Taxonomy intends to provide a range of links on software, methodologies, standards, data sources, and projects related to biodiversity data management, with emphasis on open source and free software tools for biodiversity informatics.
