  Biodiversity Project
Biodiversity Project works to make people aware of the importance of biodiversity and to build their commitment to saving it. Our task is to engage and empower people to act by making the connection between biodiversity and people's daily lives and basic values.

Is the loss of biodiversity important?
The utilitarian value of biodiversity is often invoked to justify measures directed at the protection of biodiversity. Clearly, it is the interactions of many species that provide ecological services such as the production of oxygen, removal of carbon dioxide from the air, generation of soil, cleansing and regulation of fresh water, and production of organic matter. Much of our food is based on natural sources that have been bred into commercial forms; many of our medicines come from wild species.

  Why is Biodiversity Important?
Biodiversity measurements tell us about the interactions between ecosystem composition, structure and functioning. Biologists have argued that one of the best values for measuring biodiversity is likely to be associated with the variety of different genes that can be expressed by organisms as potentially useful phenotypic traits or different chemical, morphological, functional or behavioral characters.
