  California Exotic Pest Plant Council
Protecting California's Wildlands from Invasive Plants Through Research, Restoration, and Education. Across California, natural areas are invaded by nonnative pest plants. These invasive plants replace native habitat needed by wildlife, increase wildfire and flood danger, and destroy productive range and timber lands. As a 510(c)3 nonprofit organization, Cal-IPC provides information to land managers, concerned citizens, and policy makers.

  Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council
The mission of the Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council is to support the management of invasive exotic plants in Florida's natural areas by providing a forum for the exchange of scientific, educational and technical information.

Invasive Plants of Natural Habitats in Canada
Invasive plants and their biology, impact and control options by David J. White and Erich Haber. The problem of plants invading natural areas in North America, especially species originating in Eurasia, dates back to the earliest days of European settlement. Canadian Wildlife Service (CWS), part of Environment Canada, handles wildlife matters that are the responsibility of the federal government

Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources - Invasive Species

  Convention on Biological Diversity
Signed by 150 government leaders at the 1992 Rio Earth Summit, the Convention on Biological Diversity is dedicated to promoting sustainable development. Conceived as a practical tool for translating the principles of Agenda 21 into reality, the Convention recognizes that biological diversity is about more than plants, animals and micro organisms and their ecosystems – it is about people and our need for food security, medicines, fresh air and water, shelter, and a clean and healthy environment in which to live.

  Global Biodiversity Forum - GBF
The Global Biodiversity Forum (GBF) was founded in 1993 by IUCN, WRI, UNEP, and ACTS and includes a number of other institutions as its convenors. It is an open and independent mechanism to encourage analysis, dialogue and partnership on key ecological, economic, social and institutional issues related to biodiversity. It contributes to the further development and implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the Ramsar Convention, the Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Convention to Combat Desertification and other biodiversity-related conventions at the local, national, regional and international levels.

  Ramsar Convention on Wetlands
The Convention on Wetlands, signed in Ramsar, Iran, in 1971, is an intergovernmental treaty which provides the framework for national action and international cooperation for the conservation and wise use of wetlands and their resources.
