Our mission is to encourage participation in the preservation of our plant heritage and diversity by growing and saving the seeds from heritage and non-hybrid food crops and other plants which have adapted to the Comox Valley.

The Irish Seed Savers Association is a charity set up to preserve the agricultural bio-diversity of Ireland. We collect, conserve and grow fruit, grains and vegetables. We provide information useful for both the beginner and the expert gardener.

The Eastern Native Seed Conservancy endeavors to preserve rare Baskets of assorted veggies genetic stock and in so doing is able to offer the public a sampling of true rarity. Kokopelli Seed Foundation was recently created in December 2003 by Dominique Guillet to sow in the heart of the people of North America the seed-message of Association Kokopelli in Europe: access to open-pollinated seeds is the only way to alleviate hunger and to promote, in a sustainable way, food security.

Seed Savers Aotearoa New Zealand (SSANZ) has been established to facilitate the sharing of information and resources between regional seed saving groups.

The purpose of this website is to educate people on the various projects being undertaken to conserve the southern legacy of seeds and knowledge. The projects are under the leadership of the Ethnoecology and Biodiversity Lab as well as the Sustainable Human Ecosystems Lab located at the University of Georgia.

The Heritage Seed Library (HSL) aims to conserve and make available vegetable varieties that are not widely available. The HSL Department maintains a collection, mainly of European varieties. Over the decades many varieties have been dropped from popular seed catalogues. Our collection contains many of these but also some landraces and a large number of family heirloom varieties that have never been in a catalogue. We are not a gene bank and all our collection, once we have enough seed will become available to our members.

Through seed conservation and community interaction Native Seeds/SEARCH works to protect crop biodiversity and to celebrate cultural diversity. Native Seeds/SEARCH is a nonprofit conservation organization based in Tucson, Arizona. NS/S works to conserve, distribute and document the adapted and diverse varieties of agricultural seed, their wild relatives and the role these seeds play in cultures of the American Southwestern and northwest Mexico.
