The mission of the Department of Agronomy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is to generate, integrate and apply knowledge about crop plants that are grown for food, feed and the general benefit of humankind.

The purpose of the NMCCA program is to certify that individuals working in agronomy and advising others on agronomic principles, have a professional level of expertise. The NMCCA program also provides up-to-date information that affects New Mexico growers.

Program Goals: Provide an interdisciplinary undergraduate program which will equip graduates with necessary technical competency, effective communication skills, and the ability to adapt to changing needs throughout their careers.

The Department of Land Resource Science offers superior educational programs through a unique mix of disciplinary expertise including: soil science, geology, atmospheric science and natural resources management.

The International Certified Crop Advisers (ICCA) program, a voluntary program, establishes standards for knowledge, experience, ethical conduct, and continuing education; enhances professionalism; and promotes dialogue among all stakeholders in agriculture worldwide.

Offers undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral educational and research programmatic opportunities in Molecular Biology/Biotechnology, Plant Breeding and Genetic Improvement, Plant Diversity and Natural Products, Plant Management, and Plant Pathology.

The Department of Plant Sciences is a centre for teaching, research and extension relating to the development, production and management of Field and Horticultural crops on the Canadian Prairies and the management of non-arable lands.

The Department of Soil Science has program responsibilities in undergraduate and graduate instruction, research, extension and public service, and international agriculture. Our mission is to provide instruction, research and extension leadership in application of soil chemistry, physics, biology and pedology principles to economic and environmentally sound land use.

The largest certification program in agriculture with over 14,000 certified throughout the USA and Canada. The CCA program is coordinated by the American Society of Agronomy (ASA) and administered locally by 36 state/regional/provincial boards, staffed by volunteers.
