PCCI consultants examine, diagnose, and prescribe treatments for various crop and soil problems, and endeavor to have a professional status equivalent to veterinarians in years to come.

The Departmental programs in undergraduate and graduate instruction, research, and extension have a three-fold mission: to improve agricultural productivity; to manage wisely the soil resources; and to maintain environmental quality.

The Research Center is used by professional and post-doctoral staff, and graduate and undergraduate students engaged in basic and applied research in the areas of: grain quality, stored product protection, alternative pest control, grain drying and storage, molds and mycotoxins, value-added grains and processing, insect behavior and control, worker protection and safety.

The mission of the Society is: 1) to enhance the sustainability of soils, the environment, and society by integrating diverse scientific disciplines and principles in soil science for the wise stewardship of soil and natural resources, and 2) to advance the discovery, practice, and profession of soil science through excellence in the acquisition and application of knowledge to address challenges facing society, in the training and professional development of soil scientists, and in the education of, and communication to a diverse citizenry.

The Department is the academic unit of the Saskatchewan Centre for Soil Research. It offers Undergraduate and Graduate courses. Students who choose the soil science specialization can select an Honours or the Majors concentration to obtain knowledge in Soil Biology, Soil Chemistry, Soil-Plant Nutrition, Soil Physics, Irrigation, and Soil Classification.

The Texas Association of Agricultural Consultants was founded in 1974 by six private, consulting entomologists. Since that time, the organization has grown in membership and stature. It serves as the official organization for private, independent agricultural consultants in the state.
