The department offers five majors and one minor for students interested in crop science, soil science, and agricultural meteorology. Bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees are offered as well as a web-based, distance learning master's degree program.

AgRIC is an outreach service, which provides research-based, comprehensive, and reliable information on California agronomic crops to the general public, industry, and governmental and private agencies. The Center is housed in the Department of Agronomy and Range Science at University of California, Davis.

The Crop Development Centre is a field crop research organization which seeks to increase the diversification of crops and their products for the farmers and agriculture industry of Saskatchewan by improving existing crops, creating new uses for traditional crops and introducing new crops.

The National Institute for Agronomic Research was set up in 1946 and has the mission to: guarantee consumers high-quality food; ensure that agricultural and agro-food companies are competitive; contribute to integrated land development and sustainable management of natural resources.

Dedicated to enhancing cooperation and coordination among agronomists, to recognizing significant achievements in agronomy and to providing the opportunity to report and evaluate information pertinent to agronomy in Canada.

The mission of the Society is: 1) to enhance the sustainability of soils, the environment, and society by integrating diverse scientific disciplines and principles in soil science for the wise stewardship of soil and natural resources, and 2) to advance the discovery, practice, and profession of soil science through excellence in the acquisition and application of knowledge to address challenges facing society, in the training and professional development of soil scientists, and in the education of, and communication to a diverse citizenry.

The Department of Agronomy provides statewide leadership in teaching, research, and extension in crop, soil, and range sciences. Weed science, crop breeding, climatology, and protecting soil and water resources are also important components of the departmental mission.

The Brownstown Agronomy Research Center (BARC) was established in 1937 and consists of 208± acres. Of this approximate 208 acres, 160 acres are owned by the University of Illinois Board of Trustees and 48 acres are crop shared from landowners adjacent to or in close proximity of the facility.
