Das Zentrum fur Bienenforschung ist Bestandteil der Agroscope Liebefeld-Posieux, Eidg. Forschungsanstalt fur Nutztiere und Milchwirtschaft (ALP) in Liebefeld-Bern. Das Zentrum arbeitet im Rahmen der landwirtschaftlichen Forschung des Bundes fur die Bedurfnisse der Bienenhaltung und Imkerei. Es erarbeitet aktuell gefragte wissenschaftliche und technische Grundlagen und vermittelt sie der imkerlichen Praxis sowie den weiteren interessierten Kreisen.

Centre Apicole de Recherche et d'Information (C.A.R.I.). CARI est une association belge sans but lucratif (statut proche des associations de 1901 en France). Ce centre apicole de recherche et d'information a ete cree en juin 1983 par une equipe de chercheurs du laboratoire d'ecologie de l'universite catholique de Louvain. Son objectif est la promotion et le developpement de l'apiculture.

Istituto Nazionale di Apicoltura, which enjoys the backing of the Ministry of Agricultural and Forestry Policies, is a scientific organization with an authoritative role in the regulation of the Italian beekeeping sector. In fact, it conducts research and experimentation in apiculture and offers services in the fields of training, information, analytical control of products and diagnosis of disease.

The mission of the Beneficial Insects Research Unit (BIRU) is (1) to develop scientific knowledge and biologically based technology that will enhance the role of natural enemies in managing key insect pests and weeds, and (2) to develop technology for managing honey bees in the presence of Africanized honey bees, parasitic mites and other pests.

Bee Research Institute was founded in the year 1919 in a small village - Dol, approx. 20 km north of Prague and became the State Research Institute in 1922. The institute was privatized in 1997 (Ltd). The institute owns approximately 1000 colonies distributed throughout 6 experimental stations, 6 ha vineyards, 10 ha gardens.
