The mission of the NCDA and Consumer Services Apiary Program is to promote and protect the state's beekeeping industry. The Apiary Program provides disease and disorder inspections and fumigation services in an effort to control diseases and pests of the beekeeping industry. Additionally, the Apiary Program provides educational workshops to educate the state's beekeepers on the biology and treatment of mite and disease pests of honeybees and africanized bees.

Our mission is to conduct research of international scope which emphasizes pollination management challenges and the development of a diversified and stable pollinator base for U.S. agriculture and the environment.

The National Bee Unit delivers the Bee Health Programmes on behalf of Defra and National Assembly NAW in England & Wales. Our function is to protect the honeybee, an essential pollinator of crops and wild plants, from threats such as serious disease and environmental damage. We do this using an integrated programme of apiary inspections, diagnosis, research and development, training and extension provided by a team of bee scientists and experienced practical beekeepers.

Bee Research Institute was founded in the year 1919 in a small village - Dol, approx. 20 km north of Prague and became the State Research Institute in 1922. The institute was privatized in 1997 (Ltd). The institute owns approximately 1000 colonies distributed throughout 6 experimental stations, 6 ha vineyards, 10 ha gardens.
