Our teaching mission is to prepare undergraduate and graduate students to become contributing members and leaders in the fields of veterinary and human health, animal biotechnology, production agriculture and equitation.

The Faculty of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Quality Sciences is the only institute of higher education in Israel offering university degrees in agriculture and is also home to the only Schools of Nutritional Sciences and of Veterinary Medicine. Established in 1942 as the Institute for Agricultural Sciences with 21 masters students, the Faculty today has a student body of 2,300 students.

University activities are spread between several departments in four faculties: Faculty of Landscape Planning, Horticulture and Agricultural Science, Faculty of Natural Resources and Agriculture Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science and Faculty of Forest Sciences. At Fort Valley State University, the College of Agriculture, Home Economics, and Allied Programs provides solid career foundations through four departments: Agricultural Instruction, Electronic Engineering Technology, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Veterinary Science at the undergraduate level. The College provides further career enhancement through a graduate program offering the Master of Science.

The College offers a four-year program leading to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) degree in the traditional fields of diagnosing, preventing and treating diseases of food, companion and sporting animals. Each year, the college accepts 50 Virginia residents, 30 Maryland residents, and up to 10 out-of-state residents.
