Provides biological and agricultural engineering teaching, research and extension programs in food and fiber production, processing and distribution systems which address environmental, quality and safety issues, and are responsive to the needs of Kansans.

The Department of Agricultural Economics maintains large and diverse programs in undergraduate instruction, graduate instruction, research, and extension outreach. It has a rich tradition of service to agriculture and related fields, dating back over 75 years.

The Department of Agronomy provides statewide leadership in teaching, research, and extension in crop, soil, and range sciences. Weed science, crop breeding, climatology, and protecting soil and water resources are also important components of the departmental mission.
