The School of Agriculture coordinates the Diploma in Agriculture program and offers a variety of certificate, non-credit, and professional development programs for the agri-food industry on behalf of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences.

A major focus of the department is undergraduate and graduate teaching. Major disciplines include animal behavior and welfare, genetics, nutrition and biochemistry, and physiology. The major domestic species are covered - beef and dairy cattle, swine, sheep and poultry, as well as non-traditional species of livestock.
