The Federal Institute of Agricultural Economics is a research institution for economics and social science belonging to the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management (BMLFUW). Founded in 1960 as “Agrarwirtschaftliches Institut“, the institute was later established under law and renamed “Bundesanstalt fur Agrarwirtschaft” upon the enforcement of the federal act governing the agricultural federal agencies in 1983.
